10:00 AM–10:45 AM >> THE GREAT SAMPLE DEBATE I

sessions

If only we had a crystal ball to predict the future of sample, the people who provide their valuable opinions to give marketers insights… We may not have all the answers, but our esteemed panelists will share their points of view on the key questions. At the core, what will be the role of attitudinal surveys? Will marketers value the “why”, or will they rely more heavily on behavioral data? As DIY and store fronts become common, will there be new opportunities or cannibalization of services provided by full service research agencies? As attention spans wane, will people be willing to take surveys, or do we need to change the value proposition? What needs to be done to address sample sustainability? Will engaging mobile friendly surveys finally prevail? How will sample be delivered? Through exchanges, traditional models or other integrated platforms? One thing is for sure: the sample landscape will continue to evolve as disruption becomes the norm. Place your bets, and please join us for this lively debate.

sessions

Historically hard to reach audiences are growing at a rapid pace – for instance, in the US alone, one in four babies born are of Latino descent. As a result, Hispanic purchasing power has surpassed 1 trillion USD. Brands are actively looking to tap into this consumer market and others, which means an increase in research and demand for sample. Learn and understand the unique and creative ways that companies are accessing and engaging hard to reach audiences. This discussion will provide unique perspectives, experiences and best practices to better engage these respondents.

2:30PM–3:15PM >> EXPLORING A NEW WORLD - THE BLURRING LINES BETWEEN MARKET RESEARCH & MARKETING DATA

sessions

This panel discussion focuses on emerging opportunities to integrate non-survey data with traditional attitudinal research. The burgeoning availability of first-, second- and third-party datasets, coupled with innovation in data application and linkage to programmatic advertising, provides tremendous upside while introducing new risks and complexities for sample providers, MRA’s and end clients. What was previously an interesting ‘nice-to-have’ is rapidly becoming a core component of the research universe as spending on the data underlying targeted programmatic advertising is expected to triple by 2019 to $3.5b (source: Magna Global Programmatic Intelligence, 2015). Specific questions to be explored by the panel include: What are the most notable trends in data availability? How should sample providers think about respondent value exchange considering engagement challenges, increased privacy regulation and awareness? And, how are industry leaders using integrated data to meet client needs?

In today’s world, we manage, share and store our lives online. Our devices, computers and smartphones collect information on what we do and where we go. This is just the beginning. Smart devices, such as TVs, watches and even refrigerators, collect and transmit data. The world of data collection is rapidly shifting from active to passive data collection. Do we need to “ask” questions when you can “observe”? How will respondent access and permission change? Join the discussion to learn more about this emerging form of data collection and how these digital /behavioral footprints are impacting market research.
